Summer brings with it many facets: sun, heat, wind - and sometimes rain. For classic cars, this means one thing above all: flexibility. <\/p>\n\n

Even though classic vehicles prefer to roll along dry tarmac, a brief rain shower won\u2019t keep them off the road. What matters most is how they are cared for afterwards. While we might enjoy retreating to a warm bath after a wet day, classic cars appreciate fresh air, gentle attention, and dry conditions. <\/p>\n\n

These five tried-and-tested care tips<\/strong> will help prevent a rain shower<\/strong> from causing permanent damage:<\/p>\n\n

1. create a dry environment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The vehicle should be parked in a well-ventilated garage or under a carport. Open the doors, trunk and glove compartment to allow air to circulate. <\/p>\n\n

2. dry gently<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Using a clean, soft microfiber cloth, carefully dab water from exposed areas such as beading, trim strips or chrome transitions.<\/p>\n\n

3. ventilate and clear out the interior<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Remove carpets, floor mats and trunk lining and dry separately. The soft top should remain closed until it is completely dry to prevent the formation of mold and rust. <\/p>\n\n

4. check electrics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Check fuses, plug connections and sensitive components. If necessary, a spray of contact spray will help. <\/p>\n\n

5. protect cavities & underbody<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Treat hard-to-reach areas with cavity wax or preservative grease to reliably prevent rust.<\/p>\n\n

These measures keep the classic in top form even after wet rides.<\/p>\n\n
