Disc brakes for the Mercedes-Benz 190SL

The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL came with drum brakes as standard equipment. We know from years of experience that nearly every W121 driver has experienced an unpleasant event that has highlighted the limitations of this braking system in modern traffic. Now that all production cars are equipped with disc brakes, ABS, etc., our classic cars are at a great disadvantage. Defensive driving and keeping your distance is not always possible in big city traffic, and when you are negotiating mountain roads on rallies, you want to be confident when you apply the brakes.

We’ve got a solution for this: a front axle disc brake conversion.

We’ve been supplying our disc brake conversion on the front axle since 2001. The disc brake system was developed by our company and has been approved by the TÜV Süd (technical inspection agency).

It offers several benefits.

• You can have the complete disc brake set, including TÜV registration, fitted in our workshops.
• Even with an H (classic car) plate, adding these disc brakes to your vehicle documents is not a problem, as they are a safety improvement measure.
• As far as vehicle originality is concerned, this upgrade can easily be reversed if you simply store your old components in a cupboard.
• More stable braking, less brake fading and improved brake pedal pressure.
